As a Communications Assistant at the Centre for Public Engagement, I worked on a number of projects including using a 'whispers style' photo series to convey the work of researchers and professionals.
Maintaining the CPE website; I wrote, edited and published public engagement stories. I updated the blog and created newsletters to advertise upcoming events and opportunities. Proofing printed media and publicizing projects online; I supported the communications needs of a very busy team and implemented social media plans for various projects.
Whole Earth is a project by Hard Rain; designed to engage students with sustainability. I helped bring the project to Bristol.
Thinking Futures is the University's Social Science and Law festival. Working with academics and students; we supported a range of events and I wrote copy and publicized individual activities as well as the 2015 festival as a whole.
Festival of Nature is a two day event; including one school's day and the UK's largest celebration of the natural world. Helping with logistics on the day and assisting researchers work with school groups; I supported the social media and online presence of the festival.
For Dress/Sense I created subtitles for the video in line with University of Bristol house style to improve accessibility. It made a good public engagement story that I completed shortly after.
